Introducing A New Dog To Your Resident Dog

By Austin Wilson Bringing a new dog into the pack can be both an exciting and nerve wrecking period. While you're in the process of finding a new furry addition to the family, you should plan out how you're going to introduce your new dog to the pack. Here are a few steps you should take to introduce your dogs to each other: 1. Let the dogs meet in a neutral environment like outside of a pet store or dog park. Owners should relax on the leash so the dogs are not on guard. 2. Let them sniff, circle, and whatever they need to do to establish a relationship. Owners should keep a watchful eye for cues indicating stress/anxiety or aggression. 3. Keep the first few interactions brief. After each meeting, have the dogs perform short activities like performing a short training sequence or a brief walk together. 4. A little known fact is that they are smart enough to recognize the people who take care of them. Betta fish are loners and should not be put in a tank with other bettas. While very territorial, male bettas can be put in larger aquariums with other fish as long as they have at least 3 gallons of space to themselves. Monitor your betta to make sure they aren't bullying your other fish. If they are, take them out and move them into a separate space. Teaching Your Bunny: Walking On The Leash

By Claire F. Besides cats and dogs, rabbits are one of the most popular animals you'll find as pets. But even some bunny parents aren't aware of just how smart their fuzzy family members can be. One of the funnest things to teach your rabbit is to walk on the leash. 1. Introduce the bunny to the leash and harness slowly. Leave it in the bunny's space and let them become desensitized to it. Reward the bunny when they play with the leash or the harness. 2. Place the harness or leash next to or on the rabbit until they either shake it off or leave it be. 3. When the bunny seems used to the harness bein around, put the harness on and let the bunny wear it for an hour or so. Do this once a day. 4. Attatch the leash to the harness and walk and walk the bunny around the home. 5. When ready, take the bunny outside for their first walk. Monitor your bunny and keep them on the grass in open spaces.
